Corinna Whitfield, joined WTC as Photographer in Residence on
HIAWATHA, working alongside the company on a
project to produce a photo-diary of the creative process. She
is also Photographer in Residence at Wycombe Chair Museum.
She trained at the University of Westminster, graduating with a BA Hons in Photography and Multimedia and has exhibited numerous times. Her work was included in an exhibition for the 50th Anniversary of the National Health Service, featuring portraits of older residents in the Wycombe community. Her portraits of women from different cultural backgrounds and images of Asian artefacts were the subject of a Roots of the Future exhibition run by Chiltern District Council last year, exploring the diversity of culture amongst Muslim women living in Britain. Her work has also featured in various published reports, including the Health for All NHS Project Award Annual Report 1999. Corinna's work also featured in two exhibitions, promoted by WTC. The first, in the Swan Circle foyer, opened on 31st August 2000 and featured her photographs of Somali and Bengali craftwork, exploring the creativity of Islamic women. The second, at Wycombe Arts Centre, opened on 9th September and featured a series of photographs entitled Portrait of Andrea, in which she shows extreme close-up images of a single subject - a very intimate portrait. |
