Troy relived

Iliad
High Wycombe Town Hall

Once again Wildcard Theatre Company has brought us a masterpiece. Iliad, based on Achilles and written by Elizabeth Cook with War Music by Christopher Logue, was in three parts.

Quicken, Patrocleia and Two Rivers were presented in the form of a one-man show.

Andrew Potter gave an outstanding performance, word perfect, acting out each second with an intensity that would not have been misplaced on a West End stage. Laced with modern idoms and sprinkled with wit and humour, this was a brilliant production.

His enactment of the Trojan War was so vivid it was possible to feel you were not only witnessing the battle but a part of it.

The set was stark and imaginative with atmospheric lighting. The background music supplied by the talented Tara Hendry complemented the setting following in the theme of all the great storytellers. Wildcard Theatre Company has once again excelled itself with this production.
