Introduction to Lighting Design
with Jessica Hung Han Yun
Join Jess for this 2 hour introductory session on Lighting Design where you will learn about what a lighting designer does, and the importance of their role. You’ll explore the different fields of lighting design (theatre, installations, dance, gigs, architecture) and the different routes of getting there. You’ll discuss and explore storytelling with light, and where to start when approaching your design. How do you amplify the story you are trying to tell through lighting design?
This course is for any creatives with an interest in lighting design. Whether you are an aspiring designer, or just interested in the form, you will leave this session with a stronger understanding of the basics of lighting design.

About Jessica:
Jessica Hung Han Yun is a lighting designer who works on a range of works from installations to circus to theatre, exploring the possibilities of storytelling with light. Jessica received a Knight of Illumination Award for Plays and the Off West End Award for Best Lighting Design for for Equus (2019).
