Description
Investment for Dummies
with Ameena Hamid
This workshop is all about making investment more accessible. From explaining different profit splits, to demystifying little black books, to showing just what on earth theatre investment actually is! Ameena will go through the vocabulary, the maths and the people of investment and make it more digestible for those getting frustrated by its foggy nature!
Participants will learn:
- Who investors are (generally) beyond someone’s Auntie Pat!
- What different investment terms mean.
- What words like capitalisation, units, half units, raises etc. mean.
- How lead, co-, associate and assistant producer are involved in investment.
When:
Sunday 30th January
Time: 4 - 6pm
Where: Online
We are delighted that Ameena has developed her course with us since April 2021 and she has delivered workshops for us on every Training Ground term since the beginning. Have a look below at what previous participants have said about her:
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I overcame the challenges of seeing WHY to start a theatre production company, WHAT to think about when branding myself as a producer, WHERE to find people I might want to work with, and HOW to approach potential investors and calculate the profits due them.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Ameena’s discussion about investors and the insider’s experience of grant applications was gold-dust!
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The workshop really helped me understand budgeting and planning the production as a whole - the production spreadsheet Ameena shared was beyond extremely helpful.
