Hot Brown Honey Member & Creative team of “Hive City Legacy” Hip Hop extraordinaire Yami “Rowdy” Lovenberg is inviting you to join this exciting journey in devising and understanding how to create a piece of radical fierce work.
Whether you are creating something for the first time, stuck in your own process, or want to test out an idea, this workshop will play with concept, text, movement and storytelling.
So, are you ready to shift the paradigm and take centre stage? The time is now!

Ticket types: For this workshop, there are 2 types of tickets. 1 is in Wildcard Studios and the other will be online. Both will be happening simultaneously. This ticket is an online ticket.
About Yami
Yami “Rowdy” Löfvenberg is a multidisciplinary artist working between the intersection of movement and theatre. Between making her own work, directing and performance work, Yami mentor, create and delivers workshops across the UK and Internationally. She likes to devise work with playfulness at the heart and challenge participants to explore a new take on theatre, dance, and stories whilst confronting preconceptions, stigmas, stereotypes. Her skill of working with cross-art forms has seen her collaborate with a multitude of diverse artists and organizations throughout her career.
Using her background, knowledge and love of Hip-Hop Culture and Dance, her work is rooted in combining storytelling using intention, comedy, physical expression, spoken word, sound, and design, and is not afraid to push outspokenness and rawness within her and others work.
Underpinning her aesthetic are her core values and mission of amplifying black voices on and off stage and often work with subjects such as; racism, social /political structures, equity, intersectional womxn empowerment.
Accolades; As Movement Director, theatre includes Breakin’ Convention (Sadler’s Wells); Talawa TYPT (Hackney Showrooms); Boat (BAC); Fuck You Pay Me (Bunker), Rare Earth Mettle (Royal court).
As a Director, theatre includes Kind of Woman (Camden People’s); Afroabelhas (Roundhouse/British Council /Tempo Festival Brazil.
As Assistant Director/Choreographer, theatre includes Hive City Legacy (Roundhouse, HOME, Millennium).
She is a British Council and Arts Council England recipient, One Dance UK DAD Trailblazer Fellow, Marion North Recipient, and Talawa Make Artist. She was on the creative choreographic team for the 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony and is a member of performance collective Hot Brown Honey.
She has a collaborative company called Passion & Purpose that focuses on dance management, creative projects, and artist progression.
Bursaries:
At Wildcard we believe everyone should have the chance to be creative. We want all our courses to be as open and inclusive as possible to anyone that wants to take part. We are aware that the cost of workshops and regular training is a key barrier in our industry for many people.
With this in mind, we are pleased to be able to offer 2 free places on each course.
