About Martis:
Martin Willis is variably a dramaturg, director, producer, and stand-up comedian. In 2017 while comedy programmer at The Albany on Great Portland Street, he founded Objectively Funny, which soon got dubbed by the Guardian as “the art form’s cutting edge” for the 42-show festival it ran after the Fringe. Since then, he has programmed and run two more festivals, produced a dozen shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and six at Soho Theatre, and worked as a director and dramaturg on a number of projects. Most recently Objectively Funny have run mental health programmes for people at the Fringe and during lockdown, with the Guardian (again) saying in 2019 of the company’s “compassionate approach to creating shows.” He has also created four hour-long shows himself, three as half of double act Loose Brie, and one solo stand-up hour.
