Description

Crash Course in Producing

with Ameena Hamid

Spend three sessions learning about what goes in a producer’s toolkit. We’ll cover everything from what goes into a show from page to stage, branding your production company or yourself as a producer and honing your producing style. In week one, you’ll learn about starting out and setting up as a producer. Week two will cover money and production from Arts Council bids to investment. Finally, week three will cover working with artists, buildings and teams.

You’ll also get a selection of useful resources and templates to help you put into practice what is covered in the sessions.

We are delighted that Ameena has developed her course with us since April 2021 and she has delivered workshops for us on every Training Ground term since the beginning. Have a look below at what previous participants have said about her:

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I overcame the challenges of seeing WHY to start a theatre production company, WHAT to think about when branding myself as a producer, WHERE to find people I might want to work with, and HOW to approach potential investors and calculate the profits due them.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Ameena’s discussion about investors and the insider’s experience of grant applications was gold-dust!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The workshop really helped me understand budgeting and planning the production as a whole - the production spreadsheet Ameena shared was beyond extremely helpful.
